The cat is working towards an environment without velcro, selotape, washing machine filters, inedible as well as unchaseable mouses and margerine. Cat seems to be winning...-:)

Some suggestions from a long time cat owner:
Attack the problem at source. I.E: Groom the cat. A daily once over with a cat comb makes a big difference.
Cover places where the cat sits with cotton bath towels. Then you can just pop the towels in the washing machine occasionally.
Get a really powerful vacuum cleaner.
Use a lint roller.
